Baby Boy Venegas

Our big news is that we are expecting! At the gynecologist’s today everything in the ultrasound appeared healthy and the right size, etc. As usual, Fernando was much better at interpreting the images, grinning, laughing and making comments at how funny the baby bobbed around in there. Meanwhile, I could barely distinguish the head from the spine, but once could definitely see a nose. The pregnancy is at around 20 weeks, and if all continues to go well, the baby will be born in Germany in the last days of July. We are very excited! We recently bought Leo a baby doll and a baby car seat and are brainstorming additional ways to get him used to the idea of being a big brother (and we’re open to suggestions). But these days it’s difficult to get him off his favorite topics—ducks, horses, bananas and trains—for long enough to fit in any meaningful explanation.
